History Day is January 22nd for our school and the date is quickly approaching. Most of our days in the computer lab have been devoted to research and work on History Day topics. As such, students have not had much of a chance to write on the blog. After History Day is over, I plan to have students use and update the blog more frequently.
History Day is a great competition for students to get involved in. It is a lot of work, but the reward is great. Students should have a better understanding about how to conduct research. Students should also improve their literacy and critical thinking skills.
I look forward to January 22nd and seeing all the History Day projects that will be competing. I wish all students good luck in making it to Regionals!

A GPS (Global Positioning System) is something that tells you exactly where to go. You type where you want to go, (Example: Chicago, IL) and it will tell you what roads to take to get there. The good thing about GPS’s is that they can be used in life-saving situations. Also, a lot of policemen, firemen, and ambulances, are using GPS’s to get to place’s fast. The bad thing about GPS’s is that sometimes they do not take you to the exact position if you do not explain enough. Also, GPS needs to be upgraded so it can go down new roads and highways. (Which is not cheap.) But, GPS can save you in a desperate moment and are handy, so if you can afford one, I would recommend you get it.

GPS is a website that connects to other things. GPS can connect to space, like connecting to the satellites orbiting earth.
GPS is a good because it tells us what is going on in space by the satellites. It also tells people what the weather will be on a later date.
GPS is a bad because it probably doesn’t always pick up signals.

A global positioning system (GPS) is a way of getting directions that are reliable. They give the time and usually accurate directions. Some even give you the speed you are going. A bad thing about a GPS is that they are not cheap. Another thing is they aren’t always completely accurate. A GPS might be a little bit of a pain and not very cheap but I would still recommend getting a GPS, especially if you are on the road a lot or if you don’t like having to read a map or if just don’t have a sense of direction.

I like this webpage because it lets you go to different pages of the website and shows you what all of the cool stuff GPS can do. GPS stands for Global Positioning System and is a utility that provides people information about positioning, navigating, and timing services. GPS is a good thing because the people can know through GPS when and where a natural disaster will come and the people working the GPS can know and warn people in that region that there is a natural disaster coming. Another reason GPS is a good thing is because they are better than paper maps and GPS shows all of the newer places in the world, while paper maps might be outdated. GPS can also be a bad thing in my opinion because it might not be waterproof and when people are trying to find their way in the rain, it would break and not work and then the person would be lost. Another reason in my opinion that GPS can be bad is because there is a satellite in space and what happens when it breaks down? Who will fix it? The people that are using the GPS to find their way home will be lost.

I really like this webpage and how we can go to different websites and learn about space and the roads and highways. I learned that GPS stands for Global positioning system and that is based on the U.S. space – based radionavigation system that gives you reliable positioning GPS has a handset that is readily. The GPS is made up of three parts satellites orbiting the earth; control and monitoring station on earth and the GPS receivers owned by users. Another thing about the GPS is that they might have recycled all of its parts.

GPS is a national worldwide navigation system. GPS shows location, maps, and assistance for where you need to go.
GPS is good for telling you where to go and how much time it is going to take to get there and how fast you have to go to make it there at the time you want to be there.
What happens when the networks down and someone is in the middle of nowhere and there “GPS”is down… you my friend are stranded.

Gps is based on satellites. Gps shows exact location. Gps is good because positioning, navigation, and timing services, positioning, navigation, and timing services. Gps is bad because anyone on the world can find you.
